Listen to the Show

Poetry can take us from the ridiculous to the sublime – from laughter to tears to healing. It can evoke emotional and profound responses within our souls. Thomas Gray said that poems are “thoughts that breathe, and words that burn”. This program includes:

  • compelling life experiences that brought our guests into the world of poetry

  • the many ways poetic verse has the power to evoke profound responses

  • a lively in-studio poetry slam with Drew & Barbara

  • acknowledgment of some of the poets we know and love

  • how to ignite and cultivate your inner muse

  • information about the activist-driven collective – Poets for Global Justice

  • some of the best places to hear and perform poetry
