Dr. Gary Richter has been a veterinarian in the Bay Area since 1988 and his interests include emergency medicine, general practice and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine. He is one of the founders of the Montclair Pet and Wildlife Fund, a non-profit dedicated to wildlife rescue and orphaned pets. Dr. Bonnie Bergin originated the concept of using service dogs to assist people with mobility impairments over thirty years ago. In 1991, she founded the Assistance Dog Institute in Santa Rosa, the only college in the country to offer degrees in Human Canine Life Sciences and Assistance Dog Education.
