Listen to the Show

There are so many reasons for us to purchase and consume locally grown food. In a world full of modern conveniences and technology, it’s no wonder that food preservatives and additives, as well as genetically altered crops, fill our stores and our stomachs. Our guests share their commitment to educating consumers and offering Bay Area residents fresh, wholesome food at the San Francisco’s Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market. You’ll hear about:

  • CUESA – The Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture
  • mass corn and soy production – problematic for you and the environment
  • how eating locally can have a positive effect globally
  • the benefits of responsible farming when combined with conscious consumerism
  • why embracing The Slow Food Movement can be so good for you
  • subscribing to near-by CSAs – community-supported agriculture services
